Basic Handgun Cleaning and Maintenance
Here at Indy Arms Company we take the cleaning and maintenance very seriously. When it comes to protecting your investments we are here to help.
The Handgun Cleaning and Maintenance is offered as a FREE service twice per month and is perfect for both the brand new gun owner and veteran shooter alike. Proper inspection, cleaning and maintenance is critical in ensuring your firearm works properly when you need it, and will continue to function throughout the years.
Let our expert Instructors teach you how to properly and efficiently maintain your handgun.
WHAT WE COVER:
SAFETY FIRST. How to properly “field strip” your semi auto pistol, clean it, inspect it, lubricate it and put it back together. We’ll also cover revolvers and what to do to keep them running. We will be able to show how to clean most common handguns- Colt, Glock, Beretta, S&W, Ruger, Sig, Springfield, FN, and most 1911s.
We’ll cover the best methods on how to preserve any metals, woods and polymers.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING:
One or two of your handgun, any tools your handgun requires for disassembly (at owner’s manual level). We’ll cover the best cleaning methods, modern chemicals and lubricates you should use and cleaning tools. Bring any cleaning equipment you already have, but the instructor will suggest what you really need to do the job and you can make a selection of products after the class if you prefer.
We’ll cover what springs and other parts should be replaced at what times.
Dont forget to bring your firearms manual if you don’t know how to disassemble (we might not know either).
Don’t wear your best clothes; we are going to take dirty guns apart!
