@TacticalPhD

Joel T. Nadler is the Program Director at Indy Arms and additionally coordinates the Indy Arms’ Glock GSSF and IDPA shooting leagues/events.  He is an avid collector of firearms and a proponent of the right to self-defense, and has been extensively trained in defensive firearm use.  Joel holds multiple certifications as a defensive firearms instructor (NRA, USCCA, TTA) and regularly attends supervised training across the country looking to not only increase his skills but to also better serve his students. He has instructed and co-written most of the live-fire courses offered at Indy Arms, and has also taken multiple training courses from such providers as Front Sight, Glock, TTA, NRA,USCCA, and others. Joel is also a NRA, USCCA, and IDPA certified Range Safety Officer (RSO).

Joel is a firm believer in the need for proper training for anyone who owns, uses, and especially carries firearms.  He believes in training in ways that  mirrors our natural bodily response to a defensive incident.  However, he teaches from the theory that all tactics are compromise and what works for most, may well not work for all.  Thus he teaches from the “a way not the way” perspective of training and is constantly on the lookout for new ideas to incorporate into his own instruction, furthering his ability to provide individualized coaching and feedback.  His passion is in helping newer and intermediate shooters feel comfortable advancing their skills and training for defensive use and carry, or just accuracy and competing. Joel also is a freelance writer having articles on self-defense and competition shooting regularly published in such magazines as Concealed Carry and The Glock Annual.

When not training at Indy Arms Joel is often authoring articles on self-defense for such magazines as Concealed Carry and the GLOCK Annual.  Joel uses his Ph.D. in Applied Psychology as a tenured professor of Industrial/Organizational Psychology. As a professor he primarily teaches graduate-level and adult learning classes/workshops and he specializes in instructional theory and design.  He is also the co-founder of Alpha Omega Associates, a consulting firm focusing on helping organizations and designing corporate training programs.

Joel is proud of the training offered at Indy Arms and has spearheaded the integration of the USCCA’s Defensive Firearms training into Indy Arms’ curriculum. Joel has co-authored and/or teaches the following courses at Indy Arms; Introduction to Handguns, Gun Cleaning for Beginners, Firearms Safety, Concealed Carry Seminar, Basic Defensive Handgun, Tactical Handgun I,II & III, Basic Defensive Rifle, Tactical Rifle I & II, Basic Defensive Shotgun, USCCA Concealed Carry, USCCA Home Defense, USSCA Intermediate Women’s Carry, USCCA Counter Mass Shootings, USCCA Emergency First Aid, NRA Basic Pistol, NRA Refuse to be a Victim, Home and Vehicle Defense, Low Light Encounters, Emergency Preparedness, and Partners/Team Tactics.  Additionally, he designed and regularly teaches the bi-weekly Skill Builder courses.
