Pepper Spray (OC) and Taser,
and other Non-Firearms Defensive Options
One of the questions that often comes up in defensive firearms training is, “What other tools besides firearms are useful for self-defense?” One of the two best and most accessible non-firearms defensive tools are Pepper Spray (technically called OC Spray) and Tasers. But just buying a can of Pepper Spray or a tazer and putting it in your purse or pocket is not really preparing for self-defense. This 2 1/2 hour class will address the effectiveness and limitations of Pepper Spray and tasers, along with their proper use, range, effects, legal issues, etc. It will also compare the strengths and weaknesses of Pepper Spray and taser to other available defensive tools, such stun guns, edged weapons, lights, etc., along with practical demonstrations.
